Visit to the Crocodile Farm in Livingstone with the Shurmann's

Good friends Angie and Jacob Shurmann visited me in Zambia this week.  It was a fun time filled with abit of sight seeing, long constructive conversations and good food.  One of the sights we went to was the croc farm in Livingstone, this is my third year here and it was my first visit so I was just as excited to have a look around.

This is an albino croc, not very common

Crocodiles have no tongues!
The guide was brave

Dinner is served

And they just fight for it

Under 5 clinic in Kamwi Village including a teaching on Asthma Prevention

We helped with a clinic in the village of Kamwi.  63 children showed up with moms to be vaccinated for BCG, measels, some got polio drops and moms were able to receive birth control. The Mukuni clinical officer did a teaching on the prevention and cure of Asthma.
This is the weigh scale we attached to the tree for the babies to be weighed

I got to write the details in all their clinic cards.

Under 5 clinic in Ngandu Village

Yesterday we helped with a under 5 clinic in Ngandu Village, mom's came with their babies all bundled up in warm blankets and crocheted outfits, the mornings are getting bit cooler here Praise the Lord.  As time passed sleeping babies turned to screaming babies.  It is always fun to chat with the mom's about their babies and also to hold the babies and play with them.

FIT for LIFE

Three years ago we opened 20 school in the Mukuni Chiefdom.  With time and alot of hard work 16 of them are still running and doing really well.  This year the Sector Managers of the Nyawa Chiefdom, Jacob and Jessi Schwertfeger have decided that that Chiefdom is ready for pre-schools.  In order to raise funds to operate these schools Overland Missions decided to have a fun run/walk in April.  Over 400 people ran the race and it was as successful event.

Most of the LIFE staff  were already in Africa so we decided to do a LIFE walk here in Zambia with our workers.  So we woke up early and went to Nsongwe village where they all live and we walked to work with them, just over 5km I think.
